RISE UP for Humanity Youth Conference - This event is SOLD OUT

Oneness will be joining the RISE UP for Humanity Youth Conference in April and and is excited to be putting together a songwriting workshop for the youth.

Rise Up For Humanity is a youth conference created to raise consciousness and build a progressive youth network in LA County. Through engaging workshops that focus on social justice issues and practical and artistic solutions, youth will be empowered and provided support to create human relations change efforts through art projects within their schools and communities.

The objective of the conference is for students to return back to their schools or communities and develop and create a human relations project with their teachers or mentors that will be shared through an art form on an important subject matter.  The end project will be on a subject students choose that can range from homelessness, history, prisons, poverty, sexisms, racism, homophobia, diet, trauma, healing, global warming etc. all within the conference theme in mind, "Justice for the Forgotten".

RISE UP will host over 150 students from all over LA County and will have over 20 workshops to choose from that day that will be facilitated by professionals and experts in their fields.  Their finally session will be art based workshops where they will be guided to utilize an artistic tool such as photography, song writing, poems, murals, gardening, cooking, or theatre to present a human relations change effort in their school or community on a social justice or human relations issue. The youth will be mentored and supported by our agency in manifesting their efforts.
